There’s a new movie coming out that has an all-star horror cast attached. While the trailer above suggests that the film is, in a word, ridiculous, it’s always fun to see Robert Englund in a horror role outside of his iconic A Nightmare On Elm Street character, Freddy Kreuger.
In addition to Englund, Natty Knocks also stars two other horror heavyweights: Bill Moseley (Night of the Living Dead), and Danielle Harris (Halloween). Charlotte Fountain-Jardim (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Thomas Robie (Insidious: The Last Key), Noen Perez (Grace and Frankie), and Jason James Richter (Free Willy) also star.
The movie takes place on Halloween Eve and has the following logline:
A small-town babysitter and the kids she is looking after struggle to survive a serial killer named Abner Honeywell (Moseley).
It turns out that the old ghost stories in a small town about a woman named Natty Knocks who “sleeps with the worms under the ground” and also kills people are based on some truths that this aforementioned small town is hiding. Is Natty Knocks Abner Honeywell’s mother? Or perhaps his first victim? Who knows!
What we do know is the film comes to us from Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers director Dwight H. Little with a screenplay by Benjamin Olson. We also know that this trailer looks delightfully dumb, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
Natty Knocks will premiere in theaters and on digital demand on July 21, 2023.
